This pretty modernised cottage in North Wales is a convenient base for exploring the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey. Positioned on the edge of Nefyn, a large village which has all the amenities you could need within walking distance. The cottage is close to scenic walks along the beach or mountains so you won't need the car every day. Within a short distance are safe sandy beaches for children and an abundance of footpaths providing stunning cliff top walks.
Tai Lon is close to a wide range of attractions within a 40 minute drive: Vortigans Valley - an isolated mountain valley where you can spot a rare chough; Bardsey Island on the edge of the peninsula, once a destination for pilgrims, now houses a bird observatory and teems with wildlife. The cottage is close to some of the most stunning scenery in Wales. It's possible to take a steam railway to the summit of Snowdonia, the tallest mountain in the country. The beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion, nestling in woodland and a true escape away from the twenty-first Century is easily reached from Tai Lon.
There are many many National Trust properties to visit in the area: Plas Newydd on Anglesey houses a fabulous painting by Whistler while Plas-Yn-Rhiw is a famous former home of the Keating sisters and has stunning gardens overlooking the magnficient Hell's Mouth on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
Among the area's unforgettable beaches is Whistling Sands, which squeaks when you walk across it. And approximately an hour from the cottage is the Centre for Alternative Technology where the environment is explained in an entertaining and accessible way.

Tai Lon is a lovely cosy cottage for couples or for a family with up to 2 children. Believed to be a former fisherman's cottage dating back to the mid 19th century, the cottage has been updated to a high standard. Care has been taken to retain as many period features as possible - with beams throughout the cottage in all rooms except the kitchen.
Accommodation comprises a snug lounge, newly carpeted and comfortably furnished with sofa, electric wood burner style stove, feature fireplace and exposed beams. Within the living room is a dining area where a stowaway table and chairs make good use of the available space. The cottage has a newly fitted modern kitchen, equipped with four hob cooker and microwave, a fridge with freezer compartment and a compact well thought out working area. A fan heater, with thermostatic control is integrated into the kitchen work units to keep it snug when the weather is cool.
On the first floor is the master double bedroom, with comfortable beds and bedroom furniture. The first floor is also home to a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, plus washbasin and wc. The loft bedroom is perfect for children, fully insulated and warm and cosy. If you look carefully you can see the sea.

Directions to Cottage
The cottage is on the edge of the village of Nefyn. From Porthmadog take A497 to Pwllheli through Criccieth, after 3 miles turn right on B4353 following signs for Nefyn continue for 7 miles. After Brycynan pub turn right and right again. Pass a small roundabout and travel through the village - the cottage is in the middle of the last row of cottages on the right hand side.
Electricity is included in the price. Duvets and pillows are provided but please bring own linen and towels.
