Lletty Cottage is a self contained annexe to Yew Tree Farm, a Welsh stone farmhouse built around 1790. Set in the picturesque valley of the River Towy, and with views to the Brecon Beacons National Park, the cottage has been recently refurbished and is graded 5 Stars by the Welsh Tourist Board.
Its verdant rolling landscapes and headlining horticultural attractions have led to Carmarthenshire being known as the "Garden of Wales" and there are dozens of attractions within easy reach. The world famous Aberglasney Garden, the National Botanic Garden at Llanarthne, Newton House and Dinefwr Castle and Park are all within 20 minutes drive.
The cottage overlooks the Brecon Beacons National Park, so you can enjoy beautiful walks from your doorstep in an area where buzzards and red kites fly.
There are some good pubs within walking distance - in the nearby village of Llansadwrn, the Sexton's Arms will give you a very warm welcome and food is available on Friday - Sunday. Llanwrda village, one and a half miles away, has a general store, garage, pub and a cafe that opens all hours.
Two miles away is the delightful Welsh village of Llangadog with a post office and Country Stores and the award-winning Red Lion Inn.
Stretching over 450 acres on the Burry Inlet near Llanelli, and just ten minutes drive, the National Wetland Centre is a magnificent mosaic of lakes, pools and lagoons and is home to countless wild species plus over 650 of the world's most spectacular ducks, geese, swans and flamingoes - many so tame that they feed from your hand.
A lovely way of exploring the region is by train - the Heart of Wales line runs to Shrewsbury and Swansea from Llangadog station, 2 miles from Lletty Cottage. It is renowned for its passage through dramatic mid-Wales scenery and many interesting stops. The Gwili steam railway and Brecon Beacons line are also stunning routes that snake through idyllic countryside.
Carmarthenshire has a truly historic landscape with many local castles such as the spectacularly-sited Carreg Cennan, Dryslwyn and Llanstephan all within easy driving distance from Lletty Cottage.
The cottage is also perfectly placed to see other parts of Wales - the Pembrokeshire coast and countryside, St. David's, Tenby and the Gower, to name but a few, are all within a short distance.
