Clyn Glas, Drefach Felindre
Upper Cottage is situated in the peaceful countryside near to the village of Drefach Felindre, home of the National Woollen Museum and within a short drive of the coastlines of Cardigan Bay and North Pembrokeshire. The area has many opportunities for golfing, riding and fishing within easy reach. The cottage is one of two converted from farm buildings, with the larger property that sleeps 4-6 on the same land. Upper Cottage provides an excellent base for those who enjoy walking, birdwatching or just sitting and relaxing in their own private gardens in this lovely part of Wales.
Clyn Glas is derived from the Welsh for 'Green Meadow' befitting the cottage's beautiful setting, overlooking the valley and the Hiraeth stream as it winds through the countryside towards the river Teifi. The farm has an interesting heritage connected to the wool and weaving industry - and the National Woollen Museum at Drefach Felindre is among the local attractions. There are so many other scenic parts to explore - walks and wildlife from your doorstep; the Pembrokeshire coastal path is just a short drive from the cottage and the sandy beaches of the Cardigan coast are a 20 minutes away by car. Many beaches are popular with surfers, swimmers and some are suited to sea-fishing. Seals and dolphins are often spotted along the Welsh coastline - if you visit the Cwym Tydu Cove in the autumn it's possible to see the beautiful seal pups who nest there.
This part of Wales offers plenty of activities, whatever your interest - the Teifi Valley Steam Railway, and local golf courses and riding stables, are all within easy reach. As well as sea-fishing, anglers are spoilt for choice in the local rivers where the catch of the day could be salmon or sea trout. There are also many activities for children, including watersports, Dyfed Shire Horses, and Folly Farm Adventure Park. The busy market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its many pubs, cafes, shops and historic castle is only 3 miles away. Carmarthenshire is also known for its gardens including the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the beautiful Aberglasney House and gardens both of which are well within reach of Upper Cottage.
There is an abundance of things to see and do in this part of Wales and Clyn Glas farm cottages are perfectly placed for you to enjoy it all.

Set on a hillside, with a dramatic location that looks down on the valley below, this charming rustic cottage is one of two holiday homes that have been converted from a former agricultural building, and both have been recently refurbished to a high standard.
The Upper Cottage is a bijou dwelling, sleeping two in one double bedroom but with an additional bed or cot available for small children on request. The cottage has a well-equipped fitted kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. Self-catering is made easy with ample tableware, crockery and cutlery provided. In the lounge, a woodburning stove makes it a lovely place to curl up with a good book or your favourite movie.
Upstairs, an A-frame bedroom is furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, and a bathroom with bath, shower, wash hand basin and WC. A fold-out bed or cot can be supplied so this cottage is equally suited to a romantic getaway without the kids, but it can also also accommodate a small child.
The owner's larger cottage sleeps between 4 and 6 and both cottages have their own garden, complete with a barbecue, from where you can enjoy beautiful views over the valley and watch the red kites and buzzards circling above.
