Reynoldston, The Gower
This is a lovely self-catering cottage sleeping 4-5, right in the heart of Gower in South Wales. The cottage is located on a quiet lane overlooking a mountain stream and field in the village of Reynoldston. The village has a local shop and great pub offering food at all times of day, as well as a good wine list and real ales. The cottage is close to the Gower Way path which traverses the peninsula and can lead you to all beauty spots and beaches.
This is a perfect cottage for walkers - the Gower was the first area in the UK to be designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, with 250km of coastal and hillside paths, beautiful sandy beaches, and waves that make it a surfing paradise.
Reynoldston is right in the heart of Gower nestling under Cefn Bryn, which is second highest point on the peninsula. From the Bryn there are wonderful views, with the sea all around and on a clear day you can see Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel, Devon and Exmoor, to the North towards the Brecon Beacons and West to Carmarthen Bay and Pembrokeshire.
This cosy Victorian cottage has many beaches and beauty spots a short drive away. To the west there is the gorgeous village of Rhossilli from where you can walk out and on to the Worms Head which is a range of rocks stretching out in to the channel. It also has a stunning sandy beach which has some of the best surfing in the UK and an unforgettable sunset.
To the south there are any number of small sandy beaches for family fun and surfing. With the gem that is Three Cliffs Bay one of the most photogenic spots in Wales.
As well as walking and birdwatching, there are many other activities on the doorstep of the cottage - photography tours, boat trips and some of the best sea fishing in Wales,surfing, golf (5 golf courses near the cottage), swimming, mountain biking, canoeing, horseriding and snorkling . The city of Swansea is only 20 minutes away, and it has a great choice of restaurants, cinema,theatre, and the LC2 leisure centre with surfing and wave machines.

Blackheath is a cosy stone cottage located on a quiet lane overlooking a mountain stream and field in the village of Reynoldston, in the heart of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. The cottage sleeps 4-5 in 2 bedrooms makes the perfect holiday cottage for a family or two couples.
This pretty cottage is perfect in all seasons - in the lounge, equipped with two comfortable settees and an armchair, a stone fireplace with multifuel burner, you'll find the perfect place to curl up in front of your favourite movie. The cottage is equipped with a 28 inch TV with all digital channels and sport channels, a DVD player with a small selection of DVDs and a supply of games for all ages. The oil-fired central heating throughout keeps the cottage snug.
This wonderfully presented cottage has a well-equipped galley kitchen with all appliances including a 6 burner gas stove with double oven/grill plus a separate eye level oven/grill - ideal for cooking your catch from the day's fishing trip, or to prepare Gower saltmarsh lamb chops - the cottage provides a list of local fresh food suppliers. The kitchen also has a stainless steel microwave, a range of good quality pots and pans, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, tumble drier, coffee-maker and toaster as well as a built in fridge and freezer. There is a wine chill cabinet with ample room for wine and champagne for those special occasions on holiday!
The conservatory/dining room with glazed lantern roof is furnished with pine farmhouse table and ample dining space for 6-8 people. A pine dresser is equipped with Denby crockery and a mini hi-fi/docking-port allows you to enjoy your own music from either an MP3 or iPod. French doors open from the dining area to the rear enclosed garden.
The cottage's two bedrooms are both furnished with pine furniture and ample storage, bedside cabinets and lamps. The front bedroom has a 4 foot double as well as a single bed and enjoys a lovely view of the field and village stream. The back bedroom is equipped with a kingsized double bed and overlooks Rhossilli Down to the west. Beds are made up with cotton bed linen and a hairdryer and radio are provided.
The bathroom in this beautiful cottage has a large enamelled bath and Victorian chrome mixer tap, the perfect place to have a relaxing candlelit soak. There is a powerful electric shower and a set of hand and bath towels are provided for each guest.
The garden to the front has a wooden bench - a lovely peaceful place to read and listen to the stream trickling down the hill. The pace of life slows as you watch the horses, sheep and cows amble down the road. The back garden has a lawn with a patio area just outside and is equipped with a table and chairs as well as sun loungers. The road is quiet and both gardens are enclosed and secure, making this a perfect child-friendly cottage in a gorgeous part of South Wales.
The Cottage is situated in the village of Reynoldston, overlooking the village stream and field, ten miles into the Gower Peninsula from Swansea, ten minutes from Port Eynon or Oxwich beaches, and around 20 minutes drive from J47 (Swansea West) off the M4. Just 3 hours drive to London, and 2 hrs 30mins from Birmingham or Cornwall, it is a perfect cottage for a weekend or longer break.
A basket of logs for the woodburner is included in the price. All electricity and central heating is included in the price. Bed linen and towels are provided for all guests.
Change over day is Saturday. New guests are welcome from 4pm. You are asked to vacate the cottage by 11am. Short breaks. Sorry, no pets. Smoking is not permitted in Blackheath Cottage.
