Manor Apartment is one of two self-catering apartments in a wing of the 17th century Crossways Manor House, situated in the rural Vale of Glamorgan just a few miles west of the capital city of Cardiff. To the south, the historic property borders the impressive Heritage coast, with its many bays, coves and beaches. The wonderful National Park of the Brecon Beacons, which has more hills to climb than you need, lies to the north. The Vale has many small villages and the wonderful Roman market town of Cowbridge at its heart, which retains its individual charm with many small shops, restaurants, pubs and tearooms. This area has something for everyone - golf, walking, shopping, dining, horse riding, gardens and castles - and it is all easily accessible from the M4 and Cardiff/Wales airport. Don't just drive past, stop and enjoy this wonderful area of the UK.

Crossways Manor sits in lovely gardens, perfect for a stroll. Or make use of the onsite tennis court, basketball hoop, table-tennis or pool table. There are two pubs within half a mile's walk. The impressive Heritage coast with its cliff top walks and myriad of sandy and pebbled coves is just 10 minutes down the road, including the striking Nash Point, only a few minutes' drive from the house. Cowbridge a wonderful old market town dating back to Roman days is only one mile away. It has interesting Roman remains to visit and many lovely pubs, restaurants and traditional teashops line its historic streets.

The superbly maintained Dyffryn Gardens at St Nicholas makes a perfect day out. It is a 70 acres of glorious landscaping wincluding a Pompeian garden, reflecting pool, theatre garden, and Italianate terraces. Cardiff (only 25 mins. away) offers exceptional and extensive shopping. Its contemporary Millennium Civic Centre and the newly developed waterfront sits alongside its rich heritage. Cardiff Castle, with its opulent fittings and gothic towers makes an interesting tour. For more castles, just outside the capital the coned towers and pointed turrets of Castel Coch make it appear more like a fairtytale fortress. For more shopping, 15 mins. drive away, is McArthur Glen an outlet offering designer brands at discounted prices.

Accommodation:
This is a large apartment occupying about 1/3 of the ground floor of the manor and has been created from some of the original reception rooms of the 17th century house. The proportion and room sizes are exceptional and it is tastefully decorated to a high standard. Manor Apartment is situated on the ground floor, making it wheelchair accessible and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in Wales. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, oven, washing machine. (From Oct-April there is the added bonus of an Aga oven, but this is switched off May-Sept.) Throughout the property the high ceilings, big bay windows and original features and central dining room with wood panelling make it a very special place to stay.

The accommodation is flexible, depending on your needs. There is a large sitting-room with comfortable sofas, Freeview TV, DVD and stereo. The two family roomed bedrooms, one with ensuite and both containing king-sized bed and single bed, can be equipped with single beds if you prefer. There is a third snug which has a comfortable sofabed which can be used as a third double bedroom. This flexibility makes Manor Apartment equally perfect for a large family or group of friends.

The Manor House has another smaller apartment which sleeps 6 as well as Bed and Breakfast accommodation. You can bring your well behaved dog too! There is a lovely terrace with BBQ in pretty gardens. A tennis court, table tennis and a pool table are available for the use of guests. The owners live in the Manor House and are available to welcome you and answer any queries you may have.

Directions:
Leave M4 at Junction 33 signposted: A4232 Cardiff West / Barry / Penarth. At roundabout take south exit to Cardiff West etc. Take 1st major exit left off A4232 to A48 signposted: A48 Cardiff West / Cowbridge / Barry. At traffic lights/roundabout take 4th exit to A48 Cowbridge.
At next traffic lights go straight over onto the A48, up hill Signposted: A48 Cowbridge / St Nicholas/ Dyffryn, drive through St Nicholas and Bonvilston. Exit left off A48 onto A4222. Signposted: Cowbridge / Llantrisant.
At traffic lights, straight over signposted: Llantwit Major. Drive through Cowbridge High Street. At the far end of the High Street turn left up the hill on Llantwit Major road (after police station) signposted: Llantwit Major. (Please note that if you reach the large concrete bridge you have gone too far this will take you back onto the A48). Take the first turning RIGHT opposite The Cross Inn pub signposted : Crossways House. Down the lane for 1/3 mile. Turn left into large wrought iron gates marked "Crossways House". Follow signs to left of the house until you reach the inner courtyard at the rear.

What's included:
All electricity and central heating is included in the price. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Change over day is Saturday. Short breaks or longer stays are welcome by arrangement.
