Just three miles from the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and mid way between the cities of Cardiff and Swansea, this lovely barn conversion at Tytanglwyst Farm is an ideal base from which to explore South Wales. The Coach House is one of 4 cottages located on a working dairy farm and guests can watch cows being milked, help to feed the young calves, or get to know the resident horses and ponies. The cottage is situated in an elevated position with a view of the Margam mountains, and is just 10 minutes drive from beaches of South Wales.
While this rural retreat is the perfect place to get away from it all, it is well-placed for exploring the abundance of attractions that the area has to offer. The seaside town of Porthcawl is nearby, with picturesque harbour, promenade and lovely sandy beaches - ideal for watersports, surfing and fishing. The beautiful Vale of Glamorgan, the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Mumbles and the Gower Peninsula are easily explored from the Coach House.
There are plenty of activities within a short distance of this country cottage - there are a choice of Championship Golf Courses and several driving ranges in the vicinity. Pony trekking is available on the beach, and there are local stables close to the cottage. It makes the perfect cottage for cycling, walking, birdwatching, and exploring the many country parks and castles in this part of Wales. For shopping, McArthur Glen, an outlet offering designer brands at discounted prices, is just 6 miles away. Also within easy reach of this rustic farm cottage are the theatres, museums and art galleries of Swansea and Cardiff.
The Coach House is also very convenient for a Welsh touring holiday - the Brecon Beacons are only 40 minutes drive away, Oakwood Theme Park only 50 minutes. And this convenient cottage is easily reached by the M4 from London - perfect for a short break.

The Coach House is a spacious barn conversion sleeping up to 8 people in 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin rooms, plus additional sofa bed. It is one of four cottages converted to a high standard from stone farm buildings on a working dairy farm. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped - with lovely features such as whitewashed walls, a wood burning stove, flagstone and solid wood floors and exposed beams which create a rustic, homely atmosphere.
From the hallway, steps lead into an open plan kitchen-living room which has high ceilings, exposed beams and an upstairs gallery. It is furnished with comfy leather sofas, and is kept warm in all weathers by underfloor heating. The well equipped modern kitchen comes with electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave oven. There is a dining table which seats 8 and the you can enjoy fresh farm mik delivered to your cottage door every morning. The gallery which overlooks the living room has an additional sofa bed and comfy chair, a nice place to curl up with a good book and a glass of wine. A separate shared utility room contains a freezer, washing machine and drier. There is also space for golf clubs and bikes after you have sampled the many activities and attractions of this lovely region of Wales.
This roomy cottage has four stylish bedrooms, 2 upstairs, 2 down, all with ensuite, making it an excellent holiday location for a family or a group of friends. The downstairs double bedroom and ensuite is suitable for those with mobility difficulties - please ask for our access statement for more details. The ground floor twin bedroom has 2 single beds. On the first floor there is another double bedroom and a twin bedroom.
Situated on a working farm, in an elevated position with a view of the Margam mountains, the Coach House is surrounded by 25 acres of woodland, for lovely walks from your doorstep.
There is space for ample parking, a garden, patio and barbecue area.
Exit M4 junction 37. Take Porthawl road and turn right at roundabout for North Cornelly. Farm entrance is just before low bridge. From Bridgend follow A48 west to Pyle and North Cornelly.
Our fresh farm mik can be delivered to your cottage door every morning. A basket of logs for the woodburner is included in the price. All electricity and central heating is included in the price. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Change over day is Saturday, although this is flexible. New guests are welcomed from 2pm. Guests are asked to vacate the cottage by 10am. Short breaks, minimum 2 nights, welcome by arrangement.
