As you turn into the private drive, the spectacular view of the Haven stretches out before your eyes, leading you in to the Four Ashes, a beautifiully refurbished holiday home that provides luxury holiday accommodation for a family or group. The house is perfect for entertaining, with acres informal gardens, stunning water views and its own private mooring and beach.
A large hallway leads into the lounge, which has spectacular views of the estuary. Sink into the easy chairs or window seat and watch the birds, water and yachts. For other diversions, light a real fire and cuddle up with your favourite movie or music selection - the house is equipped with state of the art audio visuals - a cinema sized HD TV, DVD and Wii games as well as a zoned audio system. Located just off the lounge is a lovely study/library - also with a log fire, to keep you snug as you choose your reading matter or enjoy a family board game. The study has a side door that leads to the lawn and rose garden where the nearby raised summer house provides another place to read or enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down. Children have their own playroom with a choice of games and toys to keep them occupied. And at the rear of this characterful self-catering house is the servants' hall - a place to store your coats and boots and tennis racquets. The hall has 2 serveries - one of which has been converted to a bar, equipped with beer/wine chiller. There are his and hers WCs conveniently located off the hall - no queueing necessary!
At the heart of the home, the fantastically equipped kitchen has butler's pantry, dishwasher, and storage space for cutlery and crockery at one end. An island work surface sits at the other end as does the Aga stove and double Belfast sink. The kitchen enjoys views of the estuary that will make washing up a breeze! All the equipment you'd expect is present, including a breadmaker and coffee machine, US sized fridge freezer, a breakfast bar and a laundry room with additional refrigerator. The flower room (beside the boiler and originally designed for flower arranging) provides a cosy place for dogs to dry after their walks. The elegant dining room seats 12 in comfort - and provides stunning views of the length of the estuary - truly perfect for that family celebration dinner.
Upstairs the huge master bedroom suite stretches down the entire length of the house - wake refreshed from your sound sleep in crisp white bedlinen and deep down duvets to watch the ever changing water. This room has a spacious dressing room with twin vanity unit leading to an enormous bathroom. (You can also access it from the garden, for that post-tennis shower!) The front bedroom with its seaside theme and twin beds is perfect for little ones (although fine for adults too). The children's bathroom continues the theme - and has a large bath big enough for 4 kids! The snug nursery has a cot and can be provided with an addtional cot on request. At the top of the stairs is one of two shower rooms on the first floor, as are two bedrooms - green and pink - both with lovely rural and estuary views - which continue to the shared ensuite bathroom. The pink room has a wash hand basin and, just across the corridor, its own loo. The two final bedrooms are blue in theme - one was originally a servant's bedroom and can be divided from the main corridor by an extra door - good for a lie in without being disturbed. Both bedrooms have beautiful views of the water. A second shower room sits opposite these rooms.
This fabulous luxury cottage nestles in approximately 8 acres - the diverse gardens with rambling pathways, woods and rock gardens that lead down to the water were previously opened to the public. A path leads to the boathouse, with private jetty below, perfect for barbecuing, jumping off for a swim or sitting and watching the boats that drift up and down the Cleddau estuary. The owners can arrange boathire waterskiing or knee boarding. In the lower garden, steps lead to your own private beach, a gorgeous spot for a picnic.
There are plenty of places for outside dining if the weather is fine - the sun terrace boasts a large table and chairs. and ample space for running around with the dogs, playing tennis and entertaining.
