Welsh holiday cottage location

This is a picture-postcard self-catering holiday cottage that sleeps 2 situated in beautiful south west Wales, just over one mile from the medieval town of Laugharne and within easy reach of Tenby. The cottage neighbours the owner's home, formerly a farmhouse, that dates back to the 12th century. A truly romantic hideaway, that is perfectly located for exploring the gorgeous scenery, ancient castles and glorious sandy beaches of this part of Wales. Many activities are on offer - horseriding, walking and watersports or you may simply wish to relax and enjoy the beautiful tranquility on your doorstep of this, the perfect romantic retreat.

The cottage is on the doorstep of the historic town of Laugharne, beloved of artists and writers and once the home of Dylan Thomas. The famous Boathouse where he wrote notable works including Under Milk Wood is now a heritage centre and his remains lie in the graveyard of St Martins Church.

Of the many stunning beaches within easy reach of this wonderfully restored cottage, Pendine is the nearest, at just three miles away. Tenby, a colourful and quaint seaside town with more beautiful beaches is only 14 miles away and there are glorious walks along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which begins its journey along the coast road at Amroth.

As well as the multitude of beaches on offer - you can enjoy walks through the peaceful countryside and verdant valleys of Carmarthenshire. The county is known as The Garden of Wales, and houses the National Botanic Garden.

The small town of Laugharne offers a choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants so there is plenty to do if you fancy sampling some fresh Welsh produce, and meeting some friendly locals. The town also boasts a silversmith and a pottery and glass blowing workshop and the imposing remains of the 12th century Norman castle, open to the public in the high season, are lovely to visit for their pretty Georgian and Victorian gardens.

This is a beautifully restored romantic cottage in a wonderful area with friendly people - the perfect bolthole for a holiday in Wales.
