Imagine the typical farmyard of your childhood and you have Blaenfforest with its limewashed stone and slate. Both the Granary (sleeping 4) and the Cottage (sleeping 2) have recently been lovingly restored creating idyllic holiday accommodation. Blaenfforest Granary is in a private and secluded situation, a perfect base from which to explore South West Wales. It is convenient for Ceredigion and Cardigan Bay, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
There is spectacular scenery, lakes and waterfalls to explore, as well as the beaches of Cardigan Bay. The thriving market town of Newcastle Emlyn, just two and a half miles away boasts exclusive shops, a wide range of eating places and pubs and a twice weekly livestock market.
The farm itself has not been 'farmed' for many years and has become a haven for wildlife. There is evidence of an otter in the valley and there are patches of wild orchids and many species of birds including Red Kites. The owners are about to create a new footpath in the ancient woodland - the path will run, for part of its length, through the bluebell woods alongside the stream in the valley.
The owners have discovered an old orchard where wild daffodils and snowdrops are glorious in the springtime. They have introduced native Welsh Black cattle who keep down the weeds but do no damage to the diversity of species in the pasture. They also keep bees, a small flock of completely free range hens, some peacocks and guinea fowl and there are often have ducks on the pond.
There are so many attractions and things to do in this wonderful area of Wales that a week's holiday is not long enough to experience it all!

In addition, there is also a wood-burning stove for those cooler evenings. With double glazing and three feet thick walls The Granary is wonderfully snug and cosy throughout the year. A ‘get away from it all’ winter break is certainly worth considering.
The lounge has two lovely and comfortable large sofas; several occasional tables; a flat screen TV with integral DVD player, freeview and teletext and some interesting books about the area, wildlife, local walks and an introduction to the Welsh language and a translation of Welsh place names.
The oak dining table has four comfortable, high backed chairs with padded leather seats.
The kitchen is very well equipped with a large fridge freezer, full sized electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, combination microwave oven, radio/CD player and a full complement of crockery, cutlery etc. Kitchen essentials are also supplied - for example kitchen roll, cling film , salt and pepper, coffee, tea, sugar and a pint or two of milk.
