Situated on the outskirts of the small hamlet of Ponthirwaun between the towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn, the cottage is central to many of West Wales abundance of attractions, including sandy beaches, waterfalls, coastal paths, fishing or exploring pretty towns and villages.
Sandy beaches are just 15 minutes drive from the cottage, among them the golden stretch at Poppit Sands, and the beautiful beach at Mwnt, reachable only by steps from the road. Visitors have spotted seals and dolphins in the waters here. This the perfect location for scenery and wildlife lovers - the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path are accessible from the cottage, and just 2 miles away are the famous waterfalls at Cenarth, where you'll see salmon and sewin leap in season.
Also on your doorstep are all of West Wales popular attractions - the market towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn, Aberporth, Tresaith, Pen Bryn and Llangranog, as well as the picturesque seaside village of Newquay where you'll find craft and antique shops and pubs and restaurants serving good food.

Golwg y Cwm holiday cottage provides beautiful 5 star accommodation in a gorgeous area in West Wales. This self-catering accommodation can sleep six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms and an additional downstairs WC, making this luxury cottage ideal both for families and for couples sharing. The cottage is equipped with a gorgeous cosy lounge, furnished with two large sofas and a woodburning stove, along with a generous supply of wood. Central heating makes this a warm and welcoming, all year round cottage. There is a TV and DVD player, along with a selection of books, games and puzzles to entertain children of all ages, and plenty of information and maps to help you explore this scenic part of West Wales.
The cottage boasts a spacious kitchen-diner, with a dining table that comfortably seats all guests, making it a great place to catch up after a day's exploring West Wales. French doors lead out to the patio. The kitchen is generously equipped with electric range style cooker, dishwasher, microwave oven, blender, a retro fridge freezer and all the utensils and cutlery to make the cottage homely and relaxed. The cottage has a washing machine, tumble dryer and a separate sink housed in utility room, and from here, a door leads into the rear garden. The ground floor area has either wood or tiled floors, nice and easy to clean. A high chair is provided on request. Downstairs has a WC for your convenience.
There are three bedrooms on the first floor of this spacious cottage - the two doubles each have a king size bed, and the twin room has two three foot beds. All are furnished with pretty pine furniture and plenty of storage space. A cot is available on request.
Bedrooom one has an ensuite shower room, and there is also a family bathroom with WC, basin and bath with shower over. Both are clean and bright and fully tiled. Bedlinen and towels are provided allowing you to travel light. Please bring your own beach towels.
At the back of the cottage is a fully enclosed private garden with patio, accessible from the dining room via French doors, and with barbecue and garden furniture, a perfect space to dine outside, or enjoy a drink in peaceful surroundings. At the end of the garden, behind a gate, is a little stream, crossed by a small wooden bridge that leads to a small wooded area, complete with picnic table. The owner's friendly Shetland pony called Secret and a sheep called Cloudy live in the paddock behind the house, the children will love to visit them. At the front of the house is an unenclosed garden, and ample parking for two cars. The owners have an adjoining parking area if required.
One well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement - there is a small paddock with space to exercise you pet or where children can play, without leaving the grounds of this wonderful cottage.
From the M4, proceed along A48 to Carmarthen, follow signs for A484 to Cardigan and stay on the A484 until Cenarth. After the village of Cenarth turn right, signed Cenarth Falls Holiday Park, at the end of the roadturn left on to B4570. Ponthirwaun is about 3/4 mile. Heating and electricity are included in the rental price. A complimentary basket of logs is provided for the woodburner. Bed linen and towels are provided. Ample parking space is available onsite.
Lets are available weekly and change over day is Friday. Check out by 10.00am. Check in from 4.00pm. Discount available for two people - please enquire.
