This Ceredigion cottage is near an abundance of dedicated cycle routes suited to all levels of fitness. The Ystwyth Trail and the Rheidhol Cycleway, are a short drive, while the circular route to Aberaeron is very close to the cottage. Mountain bikers can enjoy three main mountain biking trails near the cottage at the Nant Yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre.
This part of West Wales has walking routes that offer everything from a serious hike along the cliff top paths of the Ceredigion Coast, to an amble along the river trails of the Teifi, Aeron, Ystwyth and Rheidol. The famous Cambrian Mountains are also within easy reach for hill-walkers. Hen Ffermdy is a detached stone built farmhouse conversion providing a spacious comfortable two-person holiday home with wooden flooring throughout.
The airy open plan lounge/dining room is equipped with wood burning stove and LCD TV (complete with Freesat, DVD/CD player and iPod dock). A radiogram from the 1950s, along with a collection of records, will transport you back in time. The lounge has a wide selection of books, CDs, DVDs, games and jigsaws - it's the perfect cosy cottage to while away the hours.
The contemporary and well equipped kitchen has an integral microwave as well as a standalone oven and ceramic hob. There is also a fridge freezer, so you can stock up on essentials, as well as a downstairs WC with washbasin.
The bedroom is reached by a spiral staircase to the mezzanine which is furnished with king-sized bed as well as an ensuite shower and toilet. Duvets, towels and bed linen are provided.
Outside, the cottage has a private garden with views of the valley and fragrant herb garden with a choice of herbs to compliment any homecooked meal. The small lawn and patio is a lovely space to sit on the garden furniture with a glass of wine and take in the view or talk about your day. There is a barbecue for when the weather is fine.
Guests of the cottage can use the Games Room, with dartboard and table tennis table. The cottage has secure storage space for bikes, walking equipment and fishing tackle.
Hen Ffermdy cottage is a non-smoking property and it is pet free.
