Ty Gwyn enjoys an elevated hillside position and is situated in a stunning location in spectacular countryside just outside the village of Foel, Powys. Mid Wales is a great holiday destination and has something for everyone. There is breathtaking scenery of the Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons national parks, numerous historic sites to visit, festivals to enjoy and lots of unique attractions. If you are looking for an action holiday Mid Wales has some of the best biking routes that the UK has to offer. If you want to move at a more gentle pace there are ancient pathways to explore on foot and peaceful roads for touring where you can savour the rolling Welsh countryside.

The area is renowned for its green hills and mountains. There are traditional market towns, castles such as medieval Powis Castle and gardens (National Trust), museums and the Montgomery canal. If you fancy a ride in the "great little steam train of Wales" it is only a couple of miles to the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. Also nearby is Lake Vyrnwy, an RSPB nature reserve with visitor centre which is well worth a trip particulalry for any keen birdwatchers. Europe's leading eco-centre is situated at Machynlleth approximately 20 miles away. The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) aims to "inspire, inform and enable people" to live more sustainably. The Visitor Centre is open seven days a week. There are interactive displays which show global issues such as energy generation and transport, and practical, everyday solutions for everyone who wants to become more eco-friendly.

Accommodation:
This delightful Welsh self-catering cottage in Powys has a large conservatory which is a wonderful setting to enjoy the spectacular views along the Banwy Valley. The light and spacious living/dining room is comfortably furnished, nestling around a welcoming wood burner which is housed in a brick ingle nook. The dining area has seating for 6. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave and fridge freezer and overlooks the rear gardens where the local wildlife will keep you entertained if you stay and watch a while. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single giving ample space for 5 visitors. There is a family bathroom and also a shower room.

Outdoor seating is available for alfresco dining or sitting on a balmy summer evening watching the birds and owls fly by! The holiday cottage is set in beautiful tranquil surroundings with private gardens providing seclusion and ample parking provision.

What's included:
All bed linen and towels are included in the rental price. Electricity and heating is included in price (April to September). A small additional charge applies for bookings during October to March. There is no additional charge for pets.

Change over day is usually Saturday. Short breaks and weekend bookings are welcome.
